Joelle Breidy, holder of a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture, founded the National Gene Bank of Lebanon in 2013. She has twenty-five years of experience working alongside the Lebanese Agriculture Research Institute (LARI). Experienced in collecting Lebanese flora and in seed conservation, she is responsible for training other employees on conservation techniques and seed behaviors, including seed collection, seed handling, seed testing and seed regeneration and multiplication. In her workplace, she always uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. She is inspired daily by her family, and in her free time, she goes hiking, discovering new places and new plant species to collect and conserve.
