Dr. El Riachy is an agricultural engineer with a PhD in olive and olive oil production from the University of Córdoba (Córdoba, Spain). Upon his return to Lebanon in 2011, Dr. El Riachy established the Department of Olive and Olive Oil at the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI–Tal Amara). As head of the department, Dr. El Riachy has coordinated several national and international research projects, including Bioresources for Oliviculture (BEFORE, MSCA RISE EU project), Olio del Libano III project (funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation), and Impact of agro-industrial factors on Lebanese olive oil (project funded by CNRS-L). Currently, he is coordinating the Lebanese LIVINGAGRO project team. The research interests of Dr. El Riachy are olive and olive oil production, olive breeding, olive genetic resources, olive oil quality and olive oil chemical composition.
